Death of a Poison Pen (Hamish Macbeth Mystery, Book 20)
I am loving this series of mysteries set in Scotland and the bumbling redheaded Detective Hamish MacBeth. I love the setting of this book and the interesting characters that populate village life here in the North of Scotland and the sexual tension that abounds between Elspeth and him.In this Mystery someone is sending poison pen letters causing people to die and Hamish must find out who and why along the way fighting off the advances of Jenny. In Beaton's description of the North of Scotland you learn a lot about this area and the people and customs of this part of the U.K.

The setting sounds interesting from your review. Have read a few books before with Scotland as the setting and liked the way they wove its landscape into the narrative.

I was just dropping in to wish you and yours the happiest Independence Day. May your day be full! May you enjoy laughter shared with family, great food shared with friends, fireworks to make you gasp, a lump in your throat at the anthem, and a full and grateful heart at all we have been given. Happy Fourth of July, my friend!

One of my ma-in-law's favourite authors, I keep meaning to give the books a try but never seem to get around to it - thanks for the recommendation.

Here it is Thanksgiving Day and we are all piled up watching the parade. So, I have the perfect time to drop by and visit friends. I wanted to tell you that one the things I am thankful for today is blogging and the way it has made my world so much bigger. Thank you for the inspiration I have found here. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, my friend. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for coming by tonight. I am so glad you are reading the Hamish Macbeth series. I have been working my way though. I just love them.
I was so disappointed in the TV series, I know know why M.C.Beaton wrote "Death of a Scriptwriter."

I love the title of your blog and I love that you are a so well read.
